Career

I'm the Co-Founder of the GJI Group which is a collection of marketing specialist companies who collaborate together to help customers find, keep and growth their customers.

GJI started out in 1997 as a single company making a name for itself in customer loyalty programs using customer preference data to target and deploy very specific direct marketing campigns. This has formed the bedrock that we branch out into today.

In 2015, shortly after acquiring Colorwise Digital, we separated our direct messaging activities away from our customer loyalty and analytics to form Customology and Colourwise - thus the beginning of our Group strategy.

We then acquired PCGA, a graphic artist company focused on school diaries and yearbooks, which we merged into Colourwise before renaming Colourwise to a more appropriate name: Conversify.

Next we acquired Colorcorp, a brand signage and fleet vehicle wrapping company, situated on the north side of Brisbane in QLD.

In December 2019, we acquired Signpac, based in Hornsby in NSW, who specialise in fixed and digtal signage in schools.

We have a strong management team to drive the business so my role is diminishing each month. Currently I lead and nurture the Financial, Technology and Business Processes parts of the businesses.

Keen Interests

Coding

My background and passion is coding and since high school I have been self taught.

My favourite language to code in is Python. It is such a beautiful construct. It welcomes a beginner yet allows the most advanced engineer to craft robust and complicated systems. I spend a little time in HTML, CSS and Javascript and I am loving all the new features that are being rolled out for Javascript to make it much easier to work with.

Sports

Basketball: This is my favourite. I play twice a week and coach 2 school teams.
Jet skiing: We live in a fantastic part of the world. I am on a bay that is full of islands. There are cafes and resorts on some of the islands so I spend as much time as I can just touring the bay and jumping waves.
Snow Skiing: I wish I could do more of this. I just love it. To get to the snow is always a big trip. The closest ski hill is about 12 hours of flights and driving from door to door.
Mountain Biking: My daughter has just decided that she loves riding the trails so I've been getting out weekly.
Tennis but only now an then these days.

Gaming

I often play xbox to unwind. I have a pretty broad taste in games from single player strategy to multiplayer open world. Some of the games I've really enjoyed over the years are:
